Hot Springs In Sikkim – Yumthang, Borong and Ralong, Reshi, Yume Samdong, Lhabha Tarum
Sikkim has various hot springs which are known for their medical value. High in sulfur content, the steaming waters are believed to have amazing therapeutic properties. The average temperature of the water in all the hot springs is near about 50°C even during the winter season.

Yumthang Hot Spring
The very popular Yumthang Hot Spring is situated a few kilometers away from Yumthang Village. One has to walk for a few minutes from the road and across a pedestrian bridge on the River Lachung to reach the hot spring. For the comfort of bathers, there is a hut of two pools which contains hot spring water. The water is rich in sulphureted hydrogen gas from a spring just behind the hut and then is diverted to the pools.
Borong and Ralong Hot Springs
Another noteworthy and must visit hot springs in this northeastern state are Borong and Ralong Hot Spring which are situated just 7 Km from each other. Popular with visitors from all over the region, these natural hot springs are believed to have amazing curative powers.
Reshi Hot Spring
Amongst all the hot springs in the northeastern state, Reshi Hot Spring is considered as the top visited hot spring. Located on the bank of Rangeet River and about 25 Km from Gyalshing, it has amazing therapeutic powers. The water of this hot spring is believed to heal all the skin disease from the root therefore, it is ideal for taking a dip. There is trekkers’ hut for the convenience of the visitors.
Yume Samdong Hot Spring
Yume Samdong Hot Spring is also known as Momay Samdong. The hot spring is located at the base of the Donkia Pass which is just 25 Km from Yumthang. This hot spring is adding a beauty to this scenic state since this hot spring is mostly covered with the thick layer of snow and is situated in a remote area.
Lhabha Tarum Hot Spring
Lhabha Tarum thermal spring is located in North Sikkim near Lachen. One can easily reach there after a trek of 7 Km from the Lhabha Valley. Better yet, there two water pools lying side by side. The water is very neat and clean. And the refreshing surrounding adds the charm to this exquisite place and makes it a worth remembering.
